Canadians will have to decide what is truly important to them...

The environment has increasingly been a clear priority for many Canadians for a while now; enough so that it may have even came close to being possible to use it as a main plank for an election.

The only thing that could change that is the worsening economic situation, and we surely haven't seen the end of the bad news for the economy. My guess is that this may only be the start of things.

So the Conservatives have unleashed a nicely timed attack at Stephane Dion and the Liberals Carbon tax shifting plan.

For those of you counting, this is the unprecedented third major negative advertising blitz by this Conservative government against the official opposition in 2 and a half years. It's like the election never ended.

So what the Liberals have got to do, and fast, is get the word out where exactly the Conservatives are wrong, and where they are failing miserably on the environment.

The key thing to get across to the voting public will be that the tax-shifting will not be a tax hike, and that the Liberals are still the party that can help the environment, and also the economy.

Just my 2 cents.
